ABOUT LEWIS

Lewis James is a Sound Designer and Music Producer based in London, UK. 

Originally from Dublin in Ireland, Lewis got his start working in film and television in 2003 at Hackenbacker studios in Soho. As assistant re-recording mixer to the luminary mix engineer Nigel Heath he worked on many titles including Shaun of the Dead, Nathan Barley and Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace

His entry to the games industry came in 2005 as a Sound Designer on the Burnout franchise at Criterion Games. After shipping three Burnout games Lewis moved to Electronic Arts Montreal. There he was Audio Director on the Army of Two franchise and other titles being developed both at EA Montreal and EA’s Redwood Shores studio in San Francisco. In 2010 Lewis became Audio Director of Guerrilla Games in Amsterdam where he led the audio team on Killzone: Shadowfall and worked with long-time collaborators Tyler Bates and Lorn to produce the score.

In 2014 Lewis set up his own studio in North London, custom built as a creative space for interactive sound and music development. It was from there he began to gather acclaim for his work as a music producer and composer, blending the world of sound design with his love of score and music production; which led to him writing for and playing on a number of film, game and TV scores and releasing music on renowned electronic music labels Astrophonica, Low Riders Recordings, Exit Records, Air Texture and None60.

Driven by a love of the emotional charge of sound design and music, Lewis has dedicated himself to creating captivating and meaningful experiences for players, viewers and listeners across a range of mediums.
